XTREME LASER TAG

FAQs

DO WE GET THE ARENA TO OURSELVES?

Most players participate in “OPEN PLAY”, and play with the general public. You may book an event and pay for a private Referee to run missions just for your group during open hours or you may also rent the entire facility during off hours. For special events, we will close during open hours to host a private party.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

The games are designed for ages 7 and up, although we can accommodate younger combatants with assistance from their parents.  About half of our participants are kids and the rest adults. It's also about 50/50 between men and women. Missions are based on objectives using leadership and communication skills, not necessarily physical strength, in order to win.

IS IT SAFE?

SABR is committed to providing a safe environment for its customers. All weapons are eye-safe. The core technology used is infrared light. Infrared is on the safe side of the visible spectrum, using an infrared beam no stronger than a television remote. Our Referees monitor each mission to ensure all Rules of Engagement are being followed and reinforce the proper operation of the weapons.

CAN I PLAY ON MY OWN, OR DO I NEED TO BRING A GROUP?

Much like a pick-up game, missions run continuously and teams fluctuate in size depending on traffic. If you would like to bring a group, that is encouraged as well. Our Team will do their best to keep your team together as long as there is an equal distribution of talent. Reservations are not required.

WHAT EQUIPMENT DO I NEED TO PARTICIPATE?

Comfortable clothes and a pair of closed-toe shoes (athletic shoes recommended)

DO I NEED TO PAY TO RENT EQUIPMENT?

Everything you need for a successful mission is included - no extra costs.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SABR AND PAINTBALL OR AIRSOFT?

First and foremost, no projectiles, no welts, no pain. The laser technology also enables us to accurately replicate a specific weapon's characteristics. Our shotguns spray like real ones, the MP4 has greater range, the P90 more ammo. Missions are much more sophisticated, with multiple roles and objectives. Not all roles or strategies require shooting all the time. Working together, leadership, and communication may be important parts of accomplishing an objective. We are indoor and climate-controlled. You don't have to worry about rain-outs, cold weather, darkness. We're open year round, days and nights.

I HAVE A PHYSICAL DISABILITY, CAN I PLAY?

We hope so! All of our arenas are on one floor - no stairs or ramps. We have multiple weapons, including pistols. Our missions require team work and not everyone has to quickly move around. Some team members may take on roles that require them to be stationary. We've had participants in wheelchairs, on crutches, in casts, and pregnant. Please call us to discuss or to arrange a free tour - we'll figure it out together!

CAN WE BRING OUR OWN BEVERAGES OR FOOD INTO THE FACILITY?

We do not permit outside food or drinks in our facilities. The only exception is a birthday cake/treat. We have a wide variety of food and beverage selections available

WHEN CAN I HAVE MY EVENT?

SABR will host events any day of the week. Private events can also be hosted before we open to the general public. You may also select a time during our open hours, but keep in mind your group will participate in Open Play and will share the  arenas with  others.

HOW MANY PEOPLE DO I NEED TO BE CONSIDERED A GROUP?

The minimum number of people required for a group package is 8.

WHAT IS LASER TAG?

Laser tag is a tag game played with replica weapons which fire infrared beams of light. Infrared-sensitive targets are commonly worn by each player and are sometimes integrated within the arena in which the game is played.

It was developed in late 1970s by the United States Army which deployed a system using infrared beams called the MILES system. MILES stands for multiple integrated laser engagement system. Similar systems are now manufactured by several companies and used by various armed forces around the world for combat training purposes.

WHAT IS SABR?

SABR stands for Selectable Assault Battle Rifle. We offer seven different military grade replica weapons all machined from billet aluminum and made in the USA. Each one is patterned after its real life counterpart. Our sensors use multiple receivers which means that if you can “see it, you can hit it”.
